Comment:
I caught the filmmaking bug from doing our 1969 Senior Movie, which gave me this crazy idea to go to Hollywood to try doing it professionally. After graduating from USC Cinema, I actually did it. My biggest success was writing and producing the "Back to the Future" movies. Since then, I wrote and directed an independent feature film called "Interstate 60" (available on Amazon Streaming) and have written comic books for DC and Marvel, including Batman and Spider-Man (yes, reading comics in school actually paid off!). I'm currently enjoy the success of "Back To The Future - The Musical" for which I authored the book. It's starting its 4th Year in London (where we won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical), 2nd year on Broadway, and we just began our US Tour which will come to the Fabulous Fox in September! Plus a Tokyo production in April 2025! I also have a secondary career as an expert witness in plagiarism lawsuits. I've been happily married since 1984, my wife, our dog and I live in California, I'm still a Cardinals fan (altho I have a real problem with the Designated Hitter in the National League), and our daughter does freelance art curating in NYC. Above all, I'm proud to say I never really grew up! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the 55th. |

Since 1969? Dance. Exploration. Settle in Seattle area. Career Horticulture. India. Spiritual Counseling. Married. 2 children. Move to rural New Mexico. 40 days & nights. Widowed in 2002 & kids fly the nest. Walk in Beauty becomes a focus for the Voluntary Simplicity, contemplative, Permaculture lifestyle & healing operative my new partner & I share. A conscious reclusive lifestyle suits us as does living close to nature, clean air & water, raising chickens & turkeys, growing food, Peace a practice. I still dance... usually in the gardens! |

Wow, forty years. Very hard to believe, isn't it? I am married to Harold Gast , going on our 31st wedding anniversary. I have two grown sons, one living in Brooklyn and one here. My eldest is getting married on September 12 this year, so I will have to miss the reunion festivities, for the first time! Ha! wrote that ten years ago. We now have 2 grandchildren, a boy and a girl. My son and his wife now live in Chicago. We still live in the same house my sons grew up in. We are both retired, and enjoying life! My younger son works for Special school district. So there you are, thar circle of life. Looking forward to next year! |

Comment: A lot has changed in my life and it is certainly not the retirement I envisioned. Jim passed away in October 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS. He fought for as long as he could but thankfully had time to help me prepare. We moved to a condo we picked together which I love. I am blessed with friends and family who have been with me every step of the way. I work on building resilance every day as part of my new normal and give myself a mental high five every time I tackle something new. Both sons are married to wonderful women and of course my 4 grandchildren are the best. I hope to find a group to travel with but for now I am content with trips to Brooklyn to see one son’s family and to Seattle to see the other’s since their 2018 move to the great northwest. I work hard getting the word out about ALS and know that someday there will be a cure. |
